Access and traceability
Brazil has been a Party to the Nagoya Protocol since 2021. Access to its genetic heritage is regulated by Law 13,123/2015 and registered in SisGen.
Every plant's origin is documented and traceable together with the communities, and each project is assessed against the applicable access rules.
